FAQ

What Does a Public Adjuster Do?

A Public Insurance Adjuster is an advocate for YOUR RIGHTS as the insured. The insurance companies
have adjusters, building consultants, engineers and attorneys working for them, YOU SHOULD TOO!! We put our experts to work representing you. Detailed damage assessment, estimating using insurance adopted software, engineers and attorneys. When you hire us to help you, you get access to our numerous EXPERTS who are dedicated to fighting for YOUR best interests.

Why Do We Represent YOU, the Insured?

According to the Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability (OPPAGA), a research arm of The Florida State Legislature, a claim settled by a public adjuster was on average significantly higher than a claim settled alone; proving the necessity of public adjusters.

We see how poorly people are treated after suffering a terrible loss, we are not going to stand allowing your insurance claim to go uncontested. We are fighting for honesty, integrity, fairness, and justice in the insurance claims process.

When to hire a public adjuster?

  • When the insurance company denies and/or under estimates YOUR insurance claim
    • Insurance company states YOUR insurance claim DOES NOT exceed YOUR deductible
    • The depreciation written by the insurance carrier’s estimate is excessively high; such as YOUR roof
    • Insurance company DENIES YOUR CLAIM
    • Insurance adjuster omits/overlooks damage inside and/or outside YOUR property
  • When you need YOUR insurance advocate to develop a comprehensive claims package:
    • Xactimate (estimating software used by most insurance claim departments/adjusters)
    • Interior/exterior photos and video

    • Affidavits from the property owner/manager stating any facts necessary to further support the claim
    • Proof of Loss

How much does a public adjuster charge?

For our Public Adjusting services, our standard rate is 10%-20% of the adjusted claim amount. This applies to the total claim amount in most circumstances. Fees may change depending on state (all services are billed hourly in Louisiana) and will be stated clearly on our contract for you to review, please contact us for additional information. If we do not recover additional insurance proceeds you pay us nothing. We get paid when you get paid.

What is the difference between a public adjuster and an independent adjuster?

  • A public adjuster works exclusively for the policyholder. An independent adjuster works as a consultant on behalf of the insurance company. To have YOUR own professional representation, you need to hire a reputable public adjuster to advocate for YOUR best financial interest. The public adjusters at Matrix Claims Services are here to help you get what you’re entitled to.

What are the common “Red Flags” an insured should look for from their insurance company adjuster?

  • A need for engineers
  • Short inspections
  • Mentions of damages under deductible
  • Reservation of Rights
  • Claims denials or delays Examination under oath (EUOs)

How long does this process take?

  • Matrix Claims Services advocates and strives for maximum claim compensation for our clients by providing accurate claim estimates, fighting for integrity and justice in the insurance claims process. We will never prioritize speed over quality and average around 3 months to settlement, but each claim is settled on its own merits.
